![]() If you own gigabytes of photos, that transfer could take hours and delay you from playing with your new phone. At that point, you can manually transfer over all of your iPhone photos (and other files) to your new phone. When you activate your new Android phone, you'll have the option to sync it to your old iPhone over Wi-Fi or cable. ![]() ![]() For that, you'll have better luck downloading these documents to a computer, then uploading them to Google Drive manually. You won't be able to back up iCloud documents using this method. If you want to upload the originals they’ll come out of your storage quota. If you’re willing to accept slightly lower quality, Google offers unlimited photo storage. ![]() If you select High Quality instead the quality will be lower (yes, it’s confusing) but the difference is hardly noticeable and you get unlimited storage for those photos. Watch out for the photo section, because there are two options here: if you want to upload your photos in original quality, they’ll count towards your Google Drive storage limit. If you don’t want to backup a particular kind of data, such as your calendar, then you can switch it off here. Simply install the app, sign in to your Google account (or create a new one if you don’t already have one) and then go into Settings > Backup.
